Job summary

Baranko Companies in Dickinson, ND is seeking a Wash Bay Attendant to clean and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers. You’ll help ensure gear is clean and ready for inspection, maintenance, and repair while upholding a safe, organized wash bay.

The role emphasizes dependability, willingness to learn, and the ability to work with limited supervision in a hands-on environment. Training is provided and safety procedures are a priority.

Qualifications

  • No prior wash bay or heavy equipment experience required; training provided.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach during the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Wash and clean heavy construction equipment, trucks, pickups, trailers, and support equipment.
  • Use pressure washers, steam cleaners, degreasers, and other cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
  • Remove mud, grease, oil, and debris from equipment before maintenance and repairs.
  • Clean equipment cabs and vehicle interiors as needed.
  • Keep the wash bay, floors, drains, hoses, tools, and surrounding areas clean and organized.
  • Properly maintain pressure washers and other wash bay equipment and report equipment problems when identified.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and communicate when additional supplies are needed.
  • Follow company safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
  • Assist with general shop, yard, and maintenance-related duties as needed.
  • Move and stage company vehicles and equipment when trained and authorized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

As the Wash Bay Attendant, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining company heavy equipment, trucks, pickups, trailers, and support equipment. You will help ensure equipment entering the maintenance shop is clean and ready for inspection, maintenance, and repair while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized wash bay.

What Success Looks Like
  • Equipment is thoroughly cleaned and ready for maintenance, inspection, repair, or return to service.
  • The wash bay and surrounding work areas are kept clean, safe, and organized.
  • Obvious leaks, damage, or maintenance concerns noticed while washing equipment are communicated to the Maintenance Department.
  • Cleaning supplies and equipment are properly cared for and available when needed.
  • Work is completed safely and with minimal supervision.
  • The Wash Bay Attendant is dependable and willing to assist the Maintenance Department where needed.

  • Comfortable working around large trucks and heavy construction equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate pressure washers and cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to work in wet, dirty, hot, cold, and changing working conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
