Job summary

Hales Sand & Gravel, a CRH Company, is seeking a Fuel & Lube Technician / CDL Class A Driver to support construction, aggregate, and materials operations. The role requires fueling, inspecting, and maintaining heavy equipment and safely delivering materials to sites and plants.

The position emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate recordkeeping, with swing shift hours and field service responsiveness as core expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• Current HazMat, Tanker, Air Brake and Doubles/Triples endorsements preferred.
• DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate required and maintained.
• Ability to meet DOT driver qualification standards.
• Experience with heavy equipment and construction materials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fuel, lubricate, and perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and fleet vehicles.
• Conduct inspections to identify leaks, wear, damage, and maintenance needs.
• Change oils, filters, and fluids; maintain fuel, lubricant, coolant, and DEF levels.
• Operate fuel/lube service trucks and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Complete accurate service, inspection, and fueling records.
• Assist with minor repairs and support maintenance personnel as needed.
• Respond to field service requests to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain inventories of fuels, lubricants, filters, and maintenance supplies.
• Follow all company safety, environmental, MSHA, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and perform other duties as assigned.
• Operate end dumps and/or belly dumps with pup trailers; communicate on radio.
