Job summary

Kimmel & Associates Inc. is seeking a hands-on Heavy Equipment Fleet Supervisor to manage daily maintenance activities, shop productivity, and personnel across a diverse fleet of heavy construction equipment and commercial vehicles.

You will drive repair quality, safety, and cost control while coordinating with scheduling and operations to maximize uptime. Ideal candidates bring extensive heavy equipment maintenance experience, strong supervisory skills, and the ability to balance competing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in fleet supervision or heavy equipment maintenance leadership.
• Experience with heavy construction equipment and on-road vehicle maintenance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management or diagnostic software.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NJDOT regulations and New Jersey compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily shop activities and set priorities for efficient workflow.
• Coordinate planned maintenance and urgent repairs with scheduling to minimize downtime.
• Ensure technicians have tools, parts, and resources to complete repairs.
• Review work orders, verify repair quality, and document in CMMS.
• Monitor fleet performance and implement improvements for availability and service life.
• Lead and develop foremen and maintenance personnel; oversee staffing and coaching.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across shop operations.
