Job summary

Carter Machinery Co. Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to service heavy equipment at customer sites. The role demands hands-on repair, diagnostics, and customer interaction to ensure uptime and performance.

The starting compensation ranges from $30.45 to $43.43 per hour, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus available for eligible new hires. A minimum of three years' field experience is required to maximize the bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of three years' heavy equipment field experience to qualify for the $5,000 sign-on bonus; less experience qualifies for $2,000.
Experience performing mechanical service and repairs on heavy equipment, including engines and transmissions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; valid CDL and DOT compliance may be required.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair equipment at customer sites using manuals and service guidelines.
Service, diagnose, and repair machine components and systems, including engines and hydraulics.
Disassemble, inspect, and determine parts needed; reassemble to factory specs.
Prepare service reports, order parts, and document work clearly and timely.
Maintain a safe, clean work area and coordinate with supervisors as needed.
