Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. seeks an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician/Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of paving and material handling equipment at customer sites.

You will travel to job sites, perform field repairs, and document activities for proper warranty and service records. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, the ability to read hydraulic/electrical schematics, and willingness to stay overnight as needed.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of continuous experience in diagnosing and repairing construction equipment.
• Ability to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Ability to work overtime, stay overnight, and weekends when needed.
• Must possess a valid driver's license; CDL if required; DOT medical card is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates a mobile service vehicle and travels to customer locations to perform in-field repairs on paving, milling/reclaimer, aggregate handling and compaction equipment.
• Diagnoses and evaluates problems and performs repairs using established guidelines and flat rates.
• Maintains service truck in good working condition and completes required paperwork.
• Attends factory and other training as specified by supervisor.
• Promotes safe work habits and adheres to safety policies.
