Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician/Mechanic to travel to customer locations and perform in-field repairs on paving, milling/reclaimer, aggregate material handling and related equipment.

You will diagnose, parts order, and document technical reports while upholding safety and company standards. Responsibilities include maintaining the service truck, completing inspections, and attending factory trainings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Two years of experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment.
• Ability to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Furnish and maintain a set of tools.
• CDL if required.
• DOT medical card compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile service vehicle and travel to customer locations for in-field repairs.
• Diagnose issues and perform repairs on paving, milling/reclaimer, and related equipment.
• Order parts, write technical reports, and communicate with customers and team.
• Maintain service vehicle in good condition and complete required safety inspections.
• Attend trainings and complete paperwork promptly.
• Ensure safety and professionalism on all job sites.
