Job summary

Modern Machinery has immediate opportunities for a full-time, journey-level Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician. This role requires 3–5 years of field service experience with heavy equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain systems. The position is on-site in the field, with travel as needed and overtime eligibility.

Komatsu experience is preferred but not required. The role offers hourly pay from $32.00 to $55.00, with a benefits package including health insurance,

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and climb ladders.
• Requires a valid CDL Class A or B and insurable driving record.
• Accurately complete DOT E-Logs and maintain compliance with DOT hours of service.
• Must work well independently or in a team.
• Must be reliable, honest, and have a strong work ethic.
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must own required tools.
• Overtime with minimal notice.
• Willing to travel away from home.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, A/C, and powertrain on heavy equipment.
• Operate field service truck and locate/diagnose failures on-site.
• Read hydraulic and electrical schematics and perform tests.
• Provide prompt status updates and communicate repair plan to customers.
• Assist other technicians on large repairs or projects.
