Job summary

Fabick Cat seeks a skilled service technician to diagnose repairs on CAT equipment and perform the required maintenance and troubleshooting. You will use diagnostic tools and perform welding as needed, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of troubleshooting experience with heavy equipment, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read manuals and work orders. Journeyman status is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; journeyman preferred.
• 2–5 years’ experience repairing heavy equipment, CAT preferred.
• Experience diagnosing equipment with laptops, gauges and instruments.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, mining equipment, engines and components.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose repair needs and perform repairs on customer or company machines, including CAT equipment.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
• Perform preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
• Read and interpret manuals/work orders; order parts as needed.
• Load/unload equipment; comply with OSHA safety rules.
• Use diagnostic laptops and basic welding; work with standard tools.
• Multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment and stay organized.
