Job summary

Fabick Cat seeks a skilled heavy equipment technician to diagnose and repair CAT equipment for customer and fleet machines. You will perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs, including preventive maintenance, using diagnostic tools and manuals.

The role requires experience with heavy equipment, strong problem solving and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required. Journeyman status preferred.
• Two to five years of experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment, Caterpillar preferred.
• Experience diagnosing equipment using laptops, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose repair needs on customer or company-owned machines.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
• Use diagnostic laptops, gauges and instruments to identify faults across systems.
• Disassemble and reassemble components per manufacturer specs using hand and power tools.
• Read manuals and work orders; order parts as needed.
• Load/unload equipment from vehicles; comply with safety rules.
