Job summary

Waste Pro in Florida is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance on heavy- and light-duty trucks, including diesel, gasoline, and CNG systems.

You will assist drivers, conduct safety checks, document repairs, and support technicians with lubrication, inspections, and basic engine and brake work while adhering to OSHA standards. Eligible for ASE reimbursement and performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• Assist drivers with Pre/Post trip inspections.
• Identify visible repairs on vehicles (lights, leaks, body damage).
• Top up fluids (oil, hydraulic, transmission, DEF).
• Know tire inspections and air pressure adjustments.
• Support technicians in repair of lights, wipers, mirrors.
• Understand lubrication charts and lubricate components.
• Assist technicians in repair of basic engine, transmission, brake, suspension and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of tools required for vehicle maintenance.
• Basic computer skills for data entry.

Responsibilities

• Aid drivers with daily post-trip and vehicle safety inspections.
• Perform safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Lubricate points and complete scheduled maintenance.
• Learn brake inspection procedures and document daily results.
• Carry out basic repairs on heavy- and light-duty trucks.
• Communicate issues with technicians and drivers to minimize future repairs.
• Document parts usage and repair times accurately.
• Keep shop and grounds clean and safe per OSHA standards.
• Follow Factory Service Manuals for repairs.
• Maintain high ethics and dependability.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
