Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking a Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician to join the Safety Lane Inspection team in Florida. Grow your career by performing preventative maintenance on heavy and light trucks, including diesel, gasoline, and CNG systems.

you'll assist with daily post-trip inspections, conduct safety checks, perform lubrication, and learn brake inspection procedures while maintaining accurate maintenance records. Strong adherence to safety and quality standards is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to assist drivers with Pre/Post trip process
• Ability to identify visible repairs on vehicles
• Ability to top up fluids (oil, hydraulic, transmission, DEF)
• Knowledge of tire inspections and air pressure adjustments
• Assist in repair of lights, wipers, mirrors
• Understand lubrication charts for waste trucks
• Assist in repair of basic engine/transmission/brake/suspension/electrical components
• Knowledge of tools required for repair and maintenance
• Basic computer skills for data entry

Responsibilities

• Aid/assist drivers in completing daily post-trip and vehicle safety inspection
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment during Safety Lane and PMs
• Complete lubrication and repair of lubrication points as scheduled
• Learn and apply brake inspection procedures and document daily
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance on Heavy Duty Equipment
• Communicate with A & B technicians/drivers about vehicle issues and preventative techniques
• Complete required paperwork and time/parts documentation promptly
• Maintain clean, safe work area per OSHA standards
• Perform repairs using Factory Service Manuals
• Maintain high ethics and dependability
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
