Job summary

FleetPride York, PA is seeking a Service Writer responsible for communicating estimates, scheduling repairs, and detailing work performed for customers. The role requires a firm mechanical understanding of trucks and trailers and the ability to clearly document service work for customers and technicians.

Daily duties include preparing invoices, open repair orders, and reports while supporting the Service Manager and Technicians.

Qualifications

• Firm mechanical understanding of trucks and trailers.
• Average PC skills; G-Suite, Excel, Word preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to prepare reports and invoices.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers, employees, and others to answer questions, explain repairs, schedule repairs, and address complaints.
• Support Service Manager and Technicians with daily needs.
• Prepare invoices, open repair orders, reports, memos, letters and other documents using Google Sheets and Excel.
• Determine the status of customer accounts and payment needs prior to scheduling work.
• Answer phones, direct calls and take messages; obtain authorization for card payments and process payments.
• Maintain filing, inventory, and database systems; estimate, schedule and invoice repairs; coordinate road call requirements.
