Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including repair and maintenance.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions, obstacles, and new information.
• Vehicle maintenance knowledge of engines, parts and systems for heavy and light duty equipment.
• Self-management with initiative, minimal supervision and timely completion of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Professionally maintain all heavy-duty and light-duty equipment and vehicles used for road and airport infrastructure in Alaska.
• Diagnose, maintain, repair and modify systems including transmissions, drive trains, suspension, engine, emissions, fuel injection, hydraulics, brakes, air and electrical for heavy- and light-duty equipment.
• Resolve unusual or complex equipment problems using diverse techniques and methods, and perform routine and specialized repairs.
