Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our client near Welkom, Free State. You will maintain, repair and overhaul a diverse fleet of mining and earthmoving equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers and haul trucks, with emphasis on diesel engines, hydraulics and powertrain systems.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• 5+ years working with heavy duty diesel equipment, mining or construction preferred.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for heavy machinery.
• Able to read manuals and schematics and work safely in industrial environments.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in diesel engine repair, hydraulics, and powertrain systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for heavy machinery.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures for working with large equipment and in industrial environments.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in challenging conditions.
• Valid driver's license; a Code 14 license is advantageous.
• Willingness to work shifts as required by operational needs.
