Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanic to join our client’s team in California. The role focuses on inspection, maintenance, and repairs of trucks, buses, and heavy equipment, with emphasis on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and safety standards.

The candidate should have 5+ years of experience, a heavy diesel trade qualification, and proficiency with major brands like MAN, Scania, and Mercedes-Benz, plus a valid Class Code 10 license.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanic
• Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or equivalent
• Proven experience with major truck/bus brands (MAN, Scania, Mercedes-Benz)
• Proficiency in diesel engine diagnostics, repair and overhaul
• Strong knowledge of air brake systems and ABS
• Valid driver’s license (Code 10 or higher)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and complex repairs on heavy-duty diesel vehicles
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, suspension, braking, and hydraulic systems
• Conduct scheduled maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements and fluid checks
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues
• Ensure repairs comply with safety regulations and manufacturer specs
• Maintain accurate service records and report on vehicle condition and required repairs
