Job summary

Saia is seeking a diesel mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repair on heavy-duty trucks. You will work on class 6–8 tractors, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and assist with engine and transmission work. Strong tool use and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain systems and parts on class 6, 7, and 8 heavy tractors.
• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical, electrical, and systems.
• Use hydraulic jacks to access underneath vehicles.
• Assist in engine, transmission, differential, and spring replacements.
• Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper function.
