Responsibilities
  • Provide technical service to construction equipment.
  • Read job orders, observe and listen to machines in operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
  • Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined.
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks, and adjust as needed.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure it runs smoothly.
  • Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.
  • Attend training classes and stay updated with factory technical bulletins.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase satisfaction.
  • Complete all work as assigned by supervisor, adhering to safety and procedural standards.
  • Produce quality work demonstrating pride of workmanship.
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
  • Show courtesy to customers and dealership personnel.
  • Strive to meet production objectives set by management.
  • Follow manufacturer policies regarding labor operations, documentation, and torque specifications.
  • Perform any other duties as outlined by the Service Supervisor or management.
Qualifications
  • 1-year fleet or dealership experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment or diesel industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong team player with commitment to customer service.
  • Self-motivated and professional conduct.
  • Experience with high-pressure common rail fuel systems, exhaust after-treatment, electrical troubleshooting, and hydraulic systems.
  • Owns a personal inventory of hand tools.
  • Heavy equipment or agricultural experience is a plus.
  • A two-year technical degree may substitute for 2 years of verifiable technical employment.
Physical Requirements
  • Dexterity to operate construction equipment.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying of 50-100 pounds; frequent 20-50 pounds; continuous 10-20 pounds.
  • Regular standing, walking, reaching, grasping; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling.
  • Exposure to outside weather, fumes, and loud noises.
