Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking Horizontal Construction Engineer candidates to operate heavy equipment and clear sites for roads and runways. Training leads to civilian construction skills and potential certifications.

Responsibilities include building, clearing, excavating, and moving materials on construction sites, with emphasis on field operations and safety during mission tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be a junior in high school or hold a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to pass military enlistment and meet citizenship requirements.
• Ready to train for basic Soldiering skills and Advanced Individual Training.

Responsibilities

• Analyze grade stakes and place them.
• Cut and spread fill material with scraper.
• Level earth for runways and roadbeds, clear, excavate and move materials.
• Operate heavy construction equipment and assist in combat engineer missions.
