Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking Horizontal Construction Engineers to clear obstacles and operate heavy equipment for road, airfield, or building projects. You’ll use bulldozers, roadgraders, and cranes to prepare surfaces and assist in combat engineer tasks.

Through nine weeks of Basic Training and nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training, you’ll learn Soldiering skills while earning a paycheck and access tuition assistance for civilian construction careers.

Qualifications

• Maintains and repairs construction equipment.
• Identifies soil types and places grade stakes.
• Prefers working outdoors and in varying weather.

• Analyze the information on grade stakes and placing them.
• Cut and spread fill material with scraper.
