Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking recruits for Horizontal Construction Engineer duties. You will learn to operate bulldozers, roadgraders, and other heavy equipment to clear sites for roads, airfields, and buildings.

Responsibilities include leveling earth for runways, excavating sites, and moving materials while receiving paid training, a regular paycheck, and tuition assistance through this branch of the National Guard.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Requires Army National Guard enlistment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze grade stakes and place them.
• Cut and spread fill material with scraper.
• Level earth for runway and roadbed areas.
• Operate bulldozers and other heavy equipment to clear the site.
