Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking a Project Engineer to track and analyze cost data, ensuring projects stay on budget and run smoothly. You will review resources, schedules, and drawings, updating plans weekly for management and owners, and manage RFIs and invoicing with the accounting team.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of construction engineering experience, with strong cost control and reporting capabilities to support safe, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 3+ years construction engineering experience.
• Experience with cost accounting and resource monitoring.
• Knowledge of design-build and alternative build methods.
• Understanding of financial reporting and cost coding.

Responsibilities

• Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources.
• Review shop drawings, design specifications, and project data.
• Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
• Identify budget and schedule risks and mitigation options.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to track performance.
• Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
• Prepare and manage a three-week work plan and communicate schedule changes.
• Initiate and manage RFIs.
• Remit accurate project quantities using cost coding for reporting.
• Coordinate invoicing with accounting for materials and subcontractors.
• Review certificates, permits, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
