Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to track and analyze cost data, ensuring projects stay on budget. You will monitor resources, review schedules, and coordinate with engineering and field teams to keep projects running smoothly.

This role requires 7+ years of construction engineering, federal agency experience, and a strong grasp of FAR and agency requirements, with responsibility for RFIs, invoicing, permits, safety, and close-out activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 7+ years of construction engineering experience.
• Federal agency experience with DOD, NAVFAC, GSA, USACE.
• Deep understanding of the FAR and agency requirements.
• Experience leading construction engineering teams.
• Ability to set clear expectations and delegate work to engineers.
• Knowledge of cost coding, budgeting and schedule integration.

Responsibilities

• Meet with the engineering team to review production schedules and confirm materials, equipment and resources.
• Review shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data.
• Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling.
• Identify budget and schedule risks that could impact the project.
• Evaluate production, schedule, and budget projections weekly and monthly.
• Prepare and manage a three-week work plan and communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Initiate and manage all RFIs.
• Remit accurate project quantities using cost coding to report financials.
• Manage invoicing with accounting for materials and subcontractors.
• Review certificates and permits; review JHAs for safety.
