Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking a Project Engineer in Los Angeles to drive cost control and project performance. You will analyze cost data, monitor resources, and ensure work aligns with budgets while applying strong construction knowledge.

You will review schedules, shop drawings, and specifications; manage RFIs and invoicing; coordinate with field crews and subcontractors to mitigate delays and costs, and report weekly on progress and risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 3+ years of construction engineering experience required.
• Experience with cost accounting, estimating, and resource monitoring preferred.
• Knowledge of design-build and alternative build techniques.
• Knowledge of financial reporting, quantity tracking, and cost coding.
• Knowledge of scheduling and production time management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm materials, equipment and resources.
• Review shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data.
• Provides technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
• Identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate delays.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to track performance.
• Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
• Prepare and manage a three-week work plan and notify management of changes with mitigation.
• Initiate and manage all RFIs.
• Remit accurate project quantities using cost coding for reporting.
• Manage invoicing with accounting on materials, equipment and subcontractor needs.
• Review certificates and permits; review JHAs for safety compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews.
