Job summary

Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health, is hiring for a Patient Care Associate role. Under RN supervision, you will support patient care tasks, obtain vital signs, and help ensure accurate patient identification and safe delivery of care.

Responsibilities include assisting in daily care, rotating to meet patient needs, and handling pneumatic tube medication delivery to the appropriate staff. BLS and English proficiency are required, with CNA or related clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA credential, EMT, or other healthcare clinical experience relevant to patient care.
• Equivalent education such as nursing program rotations or MA/phlebotomy training considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN with patient assessment, planning and reporting.
• Record vital signs as ordered or delegated by the RN.
• Contribute to safe and efficient delivery of patient care and proper patient identification.
• Cover the Business Associate desk as needed and participate in shift handoffs.
• Relocate and rotate to meet patient care needs.
• Deliver medications from the pneumatic tube system to the appropriate licensed staff.
