Job summary

Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health, seeks a Patient Care Associate to support nurses and care teams. This role provides direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision and participates in fostering PFCC principles. The ideal candidate has CNA or EMT credentials and relevant clinical exposure.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; CNA/EMT or clinical healthcare experience preferred.
Two years of relevant direct patient care experience or equivalent education.
BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

Under RN direction, engage in tasks to obtain and report information to assist assessment, planning and evaluation of patient needs.
Obtain and record vital signs as ordered or delegated by the RN.
Assist in delivering safe and efficient patient care through selected treatments and activities.
Ensure accurate patient identification per policy (ID bands, doors, barcode) before procedures.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to address patient and family needs with cultural sensitivity.
Relocate and rotate to meet patient care needs as required.
