Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health's Bridgeport Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Associate to support nursing staff under the RN and NM supervision. You will engage in direct and indirect patient care activities, report vital signs, and assist with treatments to ensure safe, efficient care delivery.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and CNA or equivalent healthcare training. BLS certification is required and ongoing; English proficiency is essential in this patient-centered team

Qualifications

• BLS certification required before employment or within 1 month.

Responsibilities

• Under RN direction, assist in selected patient care tasks and report information to aid assessment.
• Obtain and record vital signs as ordered or delegated by the RN.
• Assist in safe and efficient delivery of patient care and ensure correct patient identification.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to address patient/family needs with cultural sensitivity.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, and staff; cover BA desk as needed.
• Relocate/rotate to meet patient care needs and complete non-therapeutic tasks per orders.
