Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent is required.
• Two years' experience as a unit technician or related duties preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Answers unit telephone calls promptly and courteously; relay messages.
• Coordinates schedule of procedures and tests; files results in patient charts per protocols.
• Facilitates physician consultations as required.
• Prepares admission/discharge charts per Health Information System standards.
• Assists with patient transport and assigns rooms for cleaning as needed.
• Delivers specimens to the laboratory securely and in a timely manner.
• Procures supplies from Materials Management as needed.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and secure nursing unit environment.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to promote quality patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
