Job summary

Talentify is seeking a unit technician to support administrative, clerical, and patient flow tasks on the nursing unit in Lawrence, MA. You will relay information between staff, physicians, patients, and families while ensuring chart accuracy and timely communication.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and two years of related experience; strong computer skills and knowledge of health care terminology are preferred to maintain Health Information System standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ unit technician experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Answers unit telephone calls promptly and courteously; relay messages to appropriate individuals.
• Coordinates schedule of procedures and diagnostic tests; files results in patient charts per protocol.
• Facilitates physician consultations as required.
• Prepares patient charts for admission and discharge; ensures documentation complies with HIS standards.
• Assists with patient transport arrangements and assigns rooms for cleaning as needed.
• Delivers specimens to the laboratory in a timely and secure manner.
• Procures necessary supplies from internal departments such as Materials Management.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and secure environment to support nursing unit operations.
• Collaborates as an active member of the healthcare team to promote quality patient care.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
