Responsibilities

• Follows house and telephone standards as established by the Medical Center.
• Prioritizes and responds to multiple requests in a timely manner.
• Initiates procedures for emergencies and maintains professional demeanor.
• Receives and relays messages from patients, families and staff.
• Transcribes routine and STAT physicians' orders accurately.
• Maintains and updates unit bulletin boards and communication sources.
• Communicates physicians' orders to nursing staff promptly.
• Schedules procedures, tests and x-rays to avoid conflicts.
• Keeps patient charts organized and prepares records for transfer or delivery.
