Job summary

The University of California, San Francisco is seeking a Unit Service Coordinator (USC) to serve as the focal communications source for the OR/PAR staff, medical staff, and hospital departments, performing administrative functions that support positive patient care outcomes.

Under the direction of the Patient Care Unit Manager or Charge Nurse, the USC will maintain accurate reports, coordinate schedules, and ensure timely relay of physician orders while upholding confidentiality and PRIDE

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Follows house and telephone standards and prioritizes responses.
• Relays messages promptly between patients, families and staff.
• Maintains unit-based flow boards and documents bed transfers.
• Transcribes routine and STAT physicians' orders accurately.
• Schedules procedures and tests to avoid conflicts and delays.
• Ensures confidentiality and adheres to infection control policies.
• Supports PRIDE values and participates in unit staff meetings and quality initiatives.
