Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to work in a busy, team-oriented environment and manage multiple requests.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to organize information.
• Proficient with computers and hospital information systems.
• Capable of basic arithmetic and clerical tasks.
• Maintains confidentiality and exercises good judgment with sensitive info.
• Stays calm and professional in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Support safe, efficient operations in the ED under leadership.
• Serve as central communication/coordination resource for clinicians, registration, transport, diagnostics, and other departments.
• Prioritize multiple requests, maintain accurate records (electronic and paper).
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, testing, consults, and transportation coordination.
• Escalate operational or safety concerns to the Charge Nurse or leader.
• Adhere to UCSF Health standards, values, and professionalism.
