Job summary

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, seeks a part-time Telecom Attendant in the Chicago area to answer phones, manage paging, and provide directory information. You will screen calls, assist physicians and staff, and help ensure timely access to care.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1–2 years of related experience, strong communication, and a proactive approach to service. Shift coverage includes rotating hours, holidays, and overnight as needed, with DailyPay and tuition

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of previous job-related experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to problem-solve by critically evaluating information and implementing effective solutions.
• A proactive approach to quality improvement and operational efficiency.
• Experience in a healthcare or similar customer service role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones to manage paging, messaging, and general inquiries.
• Serve as referring physicians, and the public seeking information about physicians, staff.
• Provide directory information, assist with inquiries related to staff, clinic services, office hours, and general information.
• Screen physician calls and determine whether they should be transferred to the office, nurse, or paged.
• Initiate medical teams for emergency code calls, logging all relevant details, and assist security during disaster or emergency procedures.
• Support and execute the department's disaster plan in case of equipment or network failure.
