Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Police Officer to provide internal and external safety for its facilities. The role involves patrols, escorts, incident investigations, and arrests when warranted.

You will respond to emergencies, monitor surveillance, and enforce hospital policies to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The position requires a valid driver’s license, BLS certification within 6 months, and Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy certification within 6

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
• BLS certification and Ohio Peace Officer Training completion within specified timelines are required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Non-violent crisis intervention training is required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Protect patients, visitors and employees with escorts and patrols.
• Deter criminal activity through routine hospital patrols and parking areas.
• Enforce hospital policies and security regulations.
• Monitor CCTV and respond to alarms or incidents.
• Document duties through logs and incident reports.
• Respond to emergencies and follow disaster plans.
