Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Protective Services Officer to provide internal and external safety across facilities, respond to calls, and assist with investigations as needed.

You will patrol grounds, escort patients and staff, monitor CCTV, enforce policies, and document incidents with daily activity logs. This role requires quick decision making and clear communication in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational/technical degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
• Licensing: Valid driver’s license; BLS certification required within 6 months; TASER training per SLED guidelines within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Protect patients, visitors, and employees by escorting, patrolling, and mitigating hazards.
• Deter criminal activity through routine patrols of hospital property and parking areas.
• Enforce hospital policies (parking, visitation, drug enforcement, tobacco/smoking).
• Monitor activity via CCTV and respond to escalating situations.
• Intervene in confrontations and document all duties with daily activity logs and incident reports.
