Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking an Administrative/Clerical Scheduler to join our UH-Clinic SCC Patient Access team. This full-time role schedules patients for outpatient laboratory, imaging, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures, coordinating with physicians and clinic staff to ensure timely patient access.

The position requires 2 years in a medical office environment and familiarity with physician billing or scheduling workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years experience in medical office environment.
• Exposure to physician billing, medical collections, coding, surgery scheduling and/or patient access.
• 2 years of college preferred.
• 1 year healthcare scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules all patients in accordance with established protocols and communicates appointment times.
• May complete patient pre-registration, insurance verification and patient out of pocket estimates.
• Works closely with Management, Radiologists, Techs and Nurses to ensure efficient and accurate scheduling of department resources.
• Communicates timely information to Ordering Physician's Office regarding scheduling conflicts, rescheduled appointments, and no-shows.
• Maintains schedule workqueues according to daily assignment and standards.
