Job summary

HOPCo is seeking a scheduling specialist in Arizona to manage patient appointments, verify insurance, and coordinate with clinical staff. You will update patient data in the EMR/PM system, handle authorizations, and communicate with patients regarding scheduling and financial aspects.

The role requires at least two years in healthcare and a minimum of one year in scheduling or insurance verification. Call center experience is preferred, with a focus on patient satisfaction and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in the healthcare field is required.
• Minimum one year in scheduling or insurance verification.
• Call center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule in-office procedures within the required time as designated by policies.
• Update patient demographic information and insurance eligibility; handle authorizations for claims.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients regarding authorization, financial counseling, and scheduling.
• Respond to patient questions and complaints, resolving issues to maintain satisfaction.
• Communicate clinical instructions needed for appointments/procedures.
• Answer and resolve incoming calls; triage and relay messages to staff.
• Ensure cancellations are communicated to all stakeholders.
• Update patient information in the practice management system and EMR; document work performed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of health records and HIPAA compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.
