• 5+ years of orthopedic surgery scheduling experience or 7+ years surgery scheduling experience in other specialties.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate schedules across providers, facilities, and staff.
• Collect information to determine patient financial obligation for services.
• Call patients to schedule surgery within 48 hours and arrange pre-op and post-op appointments.
• Provide ongoing communication about pre-certification, authorization, financial counseling, and scheduling.
• Collect patient payments during financial counseling or instructs patients to bring required payment to their Pre-op appointment.
• Update systems and EMR with patient information.
• Monitor and communicate scheduling-related inquiries across the Surgery Scheduling Teams chat.
• Train new schedulers and retrain after process updates.
