Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Director in its Healthcare Industry Group to lead complex M&A transactions, drive value through due diligence, and manage end-to-end engagements for healthcare clients across the US. The role requires deep industry experience, strong leadership, and a ability to mentor junior staff.

You will interface with executives, design operating models, and develop insights that support growth and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of healthcare consulting or healthcare industry experience.
• Experience with M&A transactions and/or healthcare operations.
• Ability to manage in high-pressure timelines and ambiguity.
• Strong ability to identify operational performance drivers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with all client levels.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency with Visio/Tableau/Power BI/SQL/SPSS.

Responsibilities

• Lead clients and internal teams through the full M&A lifecycle, including due diligence, integration planning and execution.
• Develop hypotheses around value levers in transactions based on industry experience.
• Conduct interviews with senior client and target stakeholders.
• Rapidly analyze financial and operational data to identify value opportunities.
• Support Day 1 planning and operating model definition for transactions.
• Identify cost and performance improvements and sustainable handoff plans.
• Engage with c-suite and board on challenges and strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to proposal development and client relationship building.
• Mentor junior staff and manage engagement economics and profitability.
