Job summary

Masonicare at Bishop Wicke in Shelton, CT is seeking a Food Service Worker to support daily meal service on DAY/EVENING shifts. Under supervision, you will wash dishes, assist in sanitation and help prepare service areas.

The role requires basic education and on-the-job training, with responsibilities including stocking, cleaning, and following safety procedures to ensure a clean, safe kitchen environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Education: Some high school education.
• Experience: On-the-job training.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions for chemicals used.
• Physical demands: standing, lifting and movement required in kitchen work.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes and cleans equipment, floors and sanitation procedures.
• Sets up dishmachine for meal service and washes dishes, sorts silverware and cleans glasses.
• Maintains cleanliness of pots and pans, cleans kitchen equipment, and organizes storerooms and coolers.
• Removes garbage from kitchen and disposes/recycles appropriately.
• Assists manager and cooks in special cleaning projects as directed.
• Follows dress code and wears provided uniforms, hairnets as required.
• Receives deliveries and rotates stock in storerooms and coolers.
• Attends all scheduled in-services.
