Job summary

The Meadows On University is seeking a dependable cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will prepare meals for residents in a hospital/long-term care setting, follow prepared menus, monitor temperatures, and assist with serving and supervision of dietary staff when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of cook experience in a hospital or long-term care facility.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities following menus and portion control guides.
• Record food temperatures for meals and prepare special diets.
• Assist with serving and supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator and/or Director of Nurses.
