Job summary

Community Care Physicians is seeking a full-time Patient Support Specialist for our Albany Family Medicine office. This 40-hour/week role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with a recruitment/retention bonus up to $1,000.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling, and handling calls, while maintaining patient flow and confidentiality. Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $24.00 per hour, with room for growth and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; additional education desirable.
• Previous clerical experience in a medical practice preferred.
• Strong computer skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures preferred.
• Ability to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, physicians, and staff.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients when they arrive at the office.
• Process incoming calls/messages based on office policy and procedure.
• Schedule appointments for patients following office protocols for access to care.
• Schedule all follow-up appointments as directed by providers or on encounter forms.
• Obtain patient signatures on waivers according to insurance requirements.
• Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule.
• Maintain timely patient flow.
• Verify insurance coverage and demographic information at each visit.
