Job summary

NeighborHealth is seeking an Assistant Food Services Manager in Boston to support the Food Services Manager in day-to-day operations. You will coordinate staff, meal production and service, menus, purchasing, inventory, scheduling, QA, and compliance for PACE/SCO meals and Home Delivered Meals.

You will train staff, ensure meals meet nutrition and safety standards, and help manage expenses. Responsibilities include staff coverage, leading food service staff, maintaining records, and ensuring

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service operations, preferably in healthcare, senior services, PACE, congregate dining, institutional food service, or Meals on Wheels environment.
• ServSafe certification at time of hire or within first three months of employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations of the Food Service Department, including site meal prep and home delivered meals.
• Assist with staff scheduling, coverage, and daily assignments to ensure adequate staffing and uninterrupted meal service.
• Serve as a resource on food preparation, recipes, production methods, and kitchen workflow.
• Assist with menu implementation, standardized recipes, and special meals per director guidance.
• Coordinate with dietitians and interdisciplinary team on participant meal needs and dietary requirements.
• Monitor food quality, temperatures, sanitation, and safe handling practices; report concerns.
