Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Food and Nutrition Representative to prepare and deliver patient meals, assemble meal trays according to diet orders, and maintain cart sanitation. The role requires stepping in independently, mentoring others when needed, and ensuring meals reach patients within 30 minutes while upholding food safety standards.

Qualifications

Must have at least two years of experience in food service or a customer service environment.
Strong knowledge of nutrition, diet orders, and food safety standards.
Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.

Responsibilities

Assemble meal service cart and companion cart with items matching menu and diet orders.
Maintain safe food handling and monitor temperatures of food.
Transport carts to designated patient units within scheduled times.
Greet patients, explain menu choices, and reference diet orders with staff as needed.
Record temperatures, assist with tray assembly, and ensure on-time delivery.
Conduct patient satisfaction surveys and document feedback for management.
Perform clerical tasks and maintain accurate patient diet data using Computrition.
Clean, sanitize and reset carts and dining equipment between meals.
