Job summary

New-Franklin-Center-For-Rehabilitation-and-Nursin is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Engineering department in providing basic maintenance to our Nursing Home. You will inspect equipment and perform basic repairs or preventative maintenance.

You should have prior maintenance experience in health care or residential facilities, be skilled with hand and power tools, and be able to read repair manuals.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• Experience with maintenance in health care or residential facilities preferred.
• Skilled in using hand and power tools.
• Able to read and understand repair manuals.

Responsibilities

• Follows equipment maintenance schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
• Light painting, flooring, wallpapering, framing, plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.
• Performs emergency mechanical repairs.
• Reports observations concerning wear, defects and malfunctioning to supervisor.
• Conducts routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Oversees contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
• Repairs machines, equipment, or structures as needed.
• Attends in-service educational programs and adheres to facility rules and infection control policies.
• Maintains high level of customer service with internal and external customers and peers.
• Assists in emergency procedures such as code E, fire, disaster, and general health care emergencies as directed.
• Follows code of conduct and ensures resident privacy; compliant with HIPAA.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
