This routine, unskilled to semi-skilled work includes inventory management and coordinating with Purchasing to keep storage areas organized. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years of facility maintenance (healthcare preferred), HVAC/electrical/plumbing experience, and a valid Alabama driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos; communicate effectively.
• 3–5 years of commercial or facility maintenance experience; healthcare setting preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with use of standard tools for repairs and maintenance.
• Valid Alabama driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Experience troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain storage facilities and develop an inventory list.
• Obtain and prioritize repair work orders; determine type of repairs.
• Perform minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, plumbing, and electrical items; touch-up painting.
• Document materials used and time involved; complete work orders.
• Assist with inspections and facility safety activities; participate in committee meetings.
