Job summary

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Facilities Manager to support the Director of Facilities Management in daily operations across buildings and utility systems. You will oversee contracted services, manage budgets and monthly variance reports, and ensure safe, compliant facilities for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in facilities management, construction trades or related field
• Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel
• Experience in vendor contract management
• Experience managing and maintaining a CMMS
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to analyze problems and take effective action
• Experience handling customer service issues

Responsibilities

• Manages contracted facilities services and ensures vendors meet contract requirements
• Oversees CMMS data quality and generates KPI reports for leadership
• Manages facility permits program and related fees
• Maintains Facility Information System with plans, warranties and capital data
• Supports Director in maintenance and operations of contracted services
• Liaises with hospital and academic departments on campus-wide issues
• Supports records for regulatory authorities (TJC, IDPH, OSHA)
• Performs rounds and inspections for safety, compliance and quality
• Implements preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
• Provides financial and operations reports to demonstrate accountability
• Negotiates and reviews outside vendor contracts
• Reviews monthly financials, budgets and variances
• Responds to facilities emergencies and coordinates prompt resolution
• Liaises with Safety, Security, EVS and Food & Nutrition
• Prepares purchase orders and documents for service contracts
• Hires, trains, and manages performance of direct reports
• Other duties as assigned
