Job summary

Mercyhealth, serving northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, seeks an Environmental Services associate for Crystal Lake area. The role involves thorough cleaning of patient and non-patient areas, including floors, fixtures, windows, and bedding, while following isolation and infection prevention standards.

Ideal candidates have high school diploma and prior cleaning experience; training provided on EPIC bed tracking and department protocols.

Qualifications

• Must perform scheduled floor cleaning per unit guidelines.
• Carpet bonneting, extraction and cleaning of carpets as required.
• Operate and maintain EVS equipment safely and effectively.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE as needed.

Responsibilities

• Thorough cleaning of assigned areas including furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, showers.
• Dusting, mopping floors, cleaning elevators and stairs, and cleaning door frames.
• Maintain EVS closet, cart, and equipment in orderly condition; report safety hazards.
• Assist with special projects (e.g., wall cleaning, drapes, window washing).
• Move furniture and supplies while obeying lifting procedures.
