Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an Environmental Services Technician in Crystal Lake, IL to perform thorough cleaning of patient and public areas, follow infection prevention standards, and maintain EVS equipment. The role includes facilitating special projects, assisting with bed-related tracking in EPIC, and adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cleaning experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Thorough cleaning of assigned areas including furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, showers.
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
• Obeys Infect Prevention Standards and uses correct chemicals for different pathogens.
• Maintains EVS closet, EVS cart, and equipment in a neat and orderly manner; reports hazards.
• Replenishes paper, soap supplies, hand sanitizer.
• Hangs cubicles/drapes according to policy.
• Moves furniture, supplies and equipment following safety procedures.
• Mixes and stores chemicals properly; uses PPE and wet floor signs as needed.
• Uses Xenex UV Light robot for specified rooms where available.
• Returns soiled and clean mops; adheres to regulations and waste handling.
