Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a housekeeping associate to maintain a clean, safe patient environment in a hospital setting. The role involves cleaning patient rooms, operating suites, and common areas, using appropriate disinfectants and following isolation procedures.

Shifts are 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with every other weekend and holiday coverage. Prior healthcare cleaning experience is preferred, with a high school diploma or GED recommended. A signing bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• Healthcare cleaning experience preferred.
• High School Graduate or G.E.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Loads service cart with materials and supplies for assigned area.
• Operates and cleans cleaning equipment (mechanical and electrical).
• Cleans operating suites with germicidal solutions and arranges furniture/equipment.
• Cleans patient rooms following isolation techniques and maintains a safe environment.
• Cleans assigned areas including walls, doors, ceilings, fixtures, and windows.
• Maintains floors, baseboards, and carpets; vacuuming as needed.
• Collects and sorts linen; maintains linen closet cleanliness.
• Performs routine cleaning and housekeeping tasks as required.
