Job summary

CIFC Health, a program of the Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc., seeks a full-time Financial Counselor / Healthcare Eligibility Specialist to help patients obtain healthcare coverage and financial assistance by determining eligibility for Access Health CT, HUSKY Health, and CIFC Health's Sliding Fee Discount Program.

The role provides education, application assistance, and ongoing support; training will be provided to obtain Certified Application Counselor certification after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients for eligibility for Access Health CT, HUSKY Health, and Sliding Fee Discount Program.
• Guide patients through health insurance and financial assistance applications and enrollment.
• Collect, verify, and evaluate household income and supporting documents.
• Maintain confidential records of interactions, determinations, and applications.
• Collaborate with registration, billing, clinical, and admin staff to ensure accurate coverage and discounts.
• Stay informed on changes to regulations and eligibility programs.
